It’s 5:00pm, you have had a long day, and you are tired. What is your most dreaded question at the end of the day? I know what mine’s is……WHAT’S FOR DINNER? (YIKES!)
I am just wrapping my head around the magic of meal planning, but trust me I am a work in progress with this task. I am a supporter that picking a day like Saturday or Sunday to plan all of your meals for the following week, saves you time, money, and most importantly, it eliminates the chance of hearing that most dreaded question at the end of the day. When I first started meal planning, it was way too overwhelming for me. However, I started taking small steps and it eventually became easier. A few of my favorite quotes from Laura Casey, that I have learned to keep on repeat this year are “leaning into the power of little by little, ” “striving for progress not perfection,” and “it’s okay to grow slow.” So to make meal planning less overwhelming…I started by just making lists of quick and easy dinner ideas. This would at least help me plan what to cook. Then eventually, I started adding the grocery items needed for those meals. Lastly, I stepped up to creating a calendar and assigning a dinner idea for each day. Little by little, progress was made, and I can now say that I am a meal planner…well sometimes :).
